Strain-Japan School District Preschool
Strain-Japan R-XVI School District is committed to providing educational services to all children within our boundaries who meet the Early Childhood Education guidelines. We are committed to the philosophy that early intervention and prevention strategies will help children succeed academically and socially to become productive and independent adults. Through a hands-on curriculum using manipulatives and the play's structure to construct knowledge, we will provide a solid foundation necessary for future educational success.
GOALS
To provide an environment conducive to developing academic and social skills.
To provide a curriculum designed to prepare students for kindergarten.
To foster open communication between parents, children, and school by providing frequent opportunities for interaction between parents and staff.
To help parents team up and participate in the educational responsibilities of their child through Parents-as-teacher (PAT) home visits and parent support meetings.
FULL-DAY PRESCHOOL
Full-day preschool is provided for up to ten children in one classroom staffed by a certified teacher. The Strain-Japan School District funds the program, and parents outside the district pay tuition. Students who are not residents of the Strain-Japan R-XVI School District are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with the district reserving seven or more spots for resident children.
TUITION
Each year, the SJS Little Leopards Preschool will reserve up to three spots for out-of-district children to attend. These children will be charged a daily tuition rate of $20/day. This price does not include lunch or breakfast. Tuition is due on the first day of each month that we are in session and will be prorated according to the number of days in that month. A tuition statement will be available through the parent portal one week before the start of the month. Failure to pay will result in termination of enrollment the following month. We highly encourage parents with students in preschool to join Strain Japan's Parents As Teachers Program!
